Dorothy's Funeral Service can be viewed here: https://vimeo.com/470261845 Graveside Service can be viewed here: https://vimeo.com/470264077 Dorothy “Dottie” Brust left this world on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, after living a long and full life. Dorothy Caverly was born February 23, 1927, in Carrington, N.D., to Sarah and Walter Caverly. Dottie played saxophone in the band while attending Carrington High School. She graduated in 1945. After graduation, Dottie moved to Washington, D.C., where she worked for the Veterans Administration. She later transferred to Fargo, N.D., and worked at the Veterans Hospital for five years. Dottie married Everett Brust on July 9, 1950, in Carrington, N.D. They made their home in North Fargo. Everett worked as the Photo Lab Chief at the North Dakota Air National Guard. Dottie accompanied Everett when he was activated with the NDANG "Happy Hooligans" during the Korean Conflict. They were stationed at Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, Ga., and at George Air Force Base in Victorville, Calif. Dottie and Everett had two children: a son, Kim, and a daughter, Linda. The family enjoyed skiing and did extensive traveling. Dottie and Everett had four grandchildren, and they took great pride and joy in attending all of their grandchildren’s various activities. Dottie was an active member of Faith United Methodist Church and assisted Everett in his wedding photography business. Following the death of her beloved husband, Dottie moved to Littleton, Colo., to be near her daughter Linda. Dottie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Everett, her brother Leonard (Woody) and sisters, Marilyn Caverly, Patricia Schmidt, and Marjorie Bourdon. Dottie is survived by her children: Kim (Constance) Brust, Fargo, N.D.; Linda (David) Roos, Littleton, Colo.; four grandchildren: Erin (Matthew Weger) Brust, Seattle, Wash.; Mara (Robert Haider) Brust, Minneapolis, Minn.; Jordan (Pamela) Roos, Lakewood, Colo.; Tracy (Andy) Lynn, Leawood, Kan.; and four great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers and memorial donations please share the gift of fellowship with your family and friends because that was what was most important to Dottie. If you would like to send a memory to be shared during the service please send a recording or a written message to [email protected] by Thursday, October 22, 2020.
