Darlene Moore passed peacefully from this life on August 12, 2021. She was the first child born to Clifford and Alice (Nelson) Skunberg on August 16, 1934, in Pelican Rapids, MN. She graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1952. She married James Moore on July 28, 1956 and two years later, they welcomed their son Michael and six years later their daughter Patti.

Darlene worked nine months of the year for Fargo Public Schools enabling the family to enjoy many summers together on Sunset Beach at Lake Lizzie. She then went to work for the Fargo VA Healthcare System retiring in August 1996.

Darlene enjoyed cooking, especially baking birthday cakes, sewing and she mastered Hardanger embroidery.

Darlene is survived by her son, Michael (Karen) and daughter Patti (Gary) Heisler; four grandchildren, Jeremy (Loralea) Newman, Melina Taylor, Bryce Heisler, and Logan Moore; and one brother, Wesley (Joanne) Skunberg. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren, Jovea, Cooper, Asante, Mila, Jalen, Carl, and Grady.

She was preceded in death by her husband James; parents, Clifford and Alice Skunberg; brothers, Wallace Skunberg, Loren Skundberg, and her sister, Sharon Teberg.

The Memorial Service is 2:00 pm, Monday, August 16 at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial is in Fargo National Cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley, First Lutheran Church or a charity or your choice.
