Obituary

Daniel C. (Dan) Duncan passed away April 7th after a long fight with diabetes, a broken hip and age. He was born October 11, 1923 to Hiram and Edna Duncan in Fargo, ND.

He went to Roosevelt grade school and graduated from Fargo Central in 1941. After high school Dan worked at Vic’s Market until he joined the Navy in 1942. He trained in Chicago, IL and Farragut, ID before joining his ship the USS Beta.

In November 1943 while on leave coming from Staten Island, NY to his ship in New Jersey, he met Emelia Fusco who became his wife March 2, 1944. They were married 74 years and had a good marriage.

Dan was recalled to the US Navy to serve for the Korean War in 1951. He again proudly served his country and received his honorable discharge May 1953.

Dan went to work for Bardwell Robinson Co. When he became a salesman Bardwell was bought by the Radford Co. where he became top salesman and marketing Manager.

Dan retired at 62 years of age. He enjoyed his home, family and many hobbies: fishing, gardening, golf, bowling, woodworking and playing cards. Dan was an excellent husband, father, salesman and friend.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, three sisters, a brother and many friends. He is survived by his wife, 2 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 1 sister, a daughter-in-law and good friends.

Thank you to the nurses and aids at Bethany on 42nd who took good care of Dan for 1 year.
