July 17, 1985 - October 20, 2019
Craig Michael Ahmann, 34, passed away at his home in Fargo, ND on Sunday, October 20, 2019 surrounded by family after a 16 month battle with Glioblastoma Brain Cancer. He fought a courageous and brave battle. Instead of complaining about the hand he was dealt, he always strived to bring comfort to his family and friends. Craig was born in Marshall, MN on July 17, 1985 to Michael and Denise (Johnson) Ahmann. He spent his youth (and much of his adulthood) playing hockey, teasing his sister, hunting, and spending time with his friends and family. In 2004, Craig moved to Fargo, ND and attended NDSU and then MSTATE. After graduating, he started his 11-year career at Bank of the West. He took pride in his work and enjoyed helping others by teaching. Craig's move to Fargo, ND brought him to his wife and best friend, Candice (even though their hometowns were only 15 minutes apart). They spent 10 years together, and recently just celebrated their 5 year Wedding Anniversary. Craig is survived by his wife, Candice; son, Reeve, and Baby A; parents, Michael and Denise Ahmann, Minneota, MN; sister, Abby (Joe) Thostenson, Minneota, MN; nephew, Hudson Thostenson, nieces, Alexis and Ivy Thostenson; maternal grandparents, Merlin and Florence Johnson; paternal grandmother, Genevieve Ahmann; mother and father-in-law, Sandra and Rodney Kolhei, Cottonwood, MN; and brother-in-law, Lance (Stephanie) Kolhei, Bloomington, MN. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Duane Ahmann. We remember Craig for his quick wit, contagious laughter, avid sports knowledge, and his love for his family and friends. He had a remarkable way of welcoming newcomers and making friends with anyone. He enjoyed life and appreciated all the small things. Above all he cared deeply for his wife and his son Reeve. Craig's outlook on life was admirable, he never stopped dreaming, and he reminds us to appreciate ordinary days with our loved ones. Craig's time with us ended too soon, but the impact he made on many of us will last many lifetimes. A Celebration of Craig’s Life will be held at 5:00pm with a Visitation from 4:00pm-7:00pm on Friday, October 25, 2019 at the Rose Creek Golf Course Banquet Center, 1500 East Rose Creek Pkwy S, Fargo, ND 58104. Craig would welcome anyone to wear casual clothing, sports gear, or maybe even their favorite pair of Crocs. Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND Memorial contributions may be made to Craig’s tribute fund for the National Brain Tumor Society at https://nbtsevents.braintumor.org/fundraiser/2450013 We are heartbroken about Craig's passing, but we know in our hearts he'd want to use his journey to help others fight this terrible disease. Rest in peace Craig, until we meet again.
