Obituary

Bradley Joel Strand, 59, of Fargo, ND ascended to Heaven on Saturday, October 19, 2019 from home of natural causes. Brad was born at St. Luke’s Hospital, Fargo, ND on May 16, 1960 to Milton and Darlene (Peterson) Strand of Fargo, ND.

Brad attended school at Horace Mann Elementary, Ben Franklin Junior High, and graduated from Fargo North High School in 1978. He was passionate about athletics, lettering in hockey and tennis. Furthering his education, he attended college at St. Cloud State University. Brad was a life-long learner; he loved music, reading, and enjoyed attending lectures and taking Communiversity classes at Concordia College. He had a variety of interesting jobs. He worked in Sun Valley, Idaho so he could ski after work. Brad also worked for the Lane County Fire Department in Oregon and had some harrowing experiences fighting forest fires. Brad was an avid outdoorsman and was happiest when outside golfing, running, camping, biking, hiking or mountain scrambling. His highlights were tackling the Appalachian Trail, Harney Peak, the Three Sisters, and Mount Rainier. Brad loved family gatherings and spending time with his nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He always wanted to know everything about their activities and loved watching them perform or enjoyed playing a game of catch or whiffle ball with them.

Brad is survived by his mother, Darlene (Dolly) Strand; brother, Rick (Janet) Strand, Jacksonville, FL, sister, Paula (Ken) Kelly, West Fargo, ND, brother, Jeff (Reneece) Strand, Sioux Falls, SD; nine nieces and nephews and seventeen great-nieces and nephews.

Brad is preceded in death by his father, Milton (Milt) Strand. Brad spoke often of how deeply Milton’s faith and love for God impacted him and their reunification in the Lord’s heavenly home is a source of comfort for his family.

Memorials may be sent to Olivet Lutheran Church Radio Fund.
