Adelaide Brakke MacMillan was born to Martha (Thue) and Nels N. Brakke on March
 
 14, 1919 in McVille, North Dakota. She graduated from McVille High School and
 
 attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota.
 
 
 In 1942 she married Philip MacMillan, of McVille, ND at Rolla, Missouri. They
 
 lived in McVille, ND where they owned the Motor Inn Chevrolet Co. from 1947 to
 
 1957. In 1957 they purchased the McVille State Bank and continued to own it
 
 until they retired in 1966. They moved to Fargo, ND in 1973 and had a winter residence in Sun City West, AZ. Adelaide was an active member of the First Lutheran Church in Fargo and was a generous contributor to many organizations she held dear to her heart.
 
 
 Adelaide Brakke MacMillan, 97, died Saturday, January 28, 2017 at her home at
 
 Bethany South (Gables) in Fargo, ND.
 
 
 Adelaide is survived by several nieces and nephews, about whom she cared very
 
 much; and by her two trusted and constant friends and godchildren, Barbara Wonder and Rodney
 
 Casad.
 
 
 She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Philip, her older sister
 
 Liv (Oscar) Hertsgaard, and her two brothers, Nels (Lucille), and Perry
 
 (Dorothy).
 
 
 In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Nokomis Childcare Centers of The Village Family Service Center of Fargo or The Salvation Army.
