Delores "Dodie" Greenwood

Delores Ione Greenwood Gudmundson died Tuesday, February 15, 2011, in the Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown, ND. Dodie was born December 10, 1928, in Crystal, North Dakota, daughter of Rueben and Eva (Onstad) Greenwood. She graduated from Crystal High School and married Marvin Gudmundson in 1947. The couple resided in Gardar, ND; Pisek, ND; Hallock, MN; and Kidder, SD. The couple lived in Milbank, SD, from 1955 – 1974, where they raised their three children. Dodie worked, for a time, as a teacher’s aide in sixth grade at Koch Elementary. After living in Lidgerwood, ND, for a few years, the couple retired to Fargo, ND. Dodie did volunteer work at St. John’s Hospital. Dodie was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Fargo, and the Fargo Icelandic Club. Her true legacy was as a good friend, a good neighbor, and a mother who was always there for her children, grandchildren, and family. She was beautiful inside and out. Dodie is survived by a daughter, Yvonne (Lloyd) Fuglestad, Jamestown, ND; a son, Dale, Fargo, ND; a son, Mark; four grandchildren, Kirsten (Matt) Huovinen, Dilworth, MN; Rey (Jill) Fuglestad, Alexandria, MN; Robyn (Doug) Cummings, San Jose, CA; and Tim Gudmundson, Vermillion, SD; ten great-grandchildren; sisters, Beth Fortier, Fargo, ND; Marlene (Randy) Bakken, Fargo, ND; Brenda (Paul) Leseur, Roseville, MN; brothers, Ron (Pam) Greenwood, Middlebury, IN; Jack (Bonnie) Greenwood, Fargo, ND; and Bob (Sue) Greenwood, Reno, NV. Dodie was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; her brother, Lyle; and her parents. Funeral Service: Friday, February 18, 2011, at 2:00 PM, at Hope Lutheran Church – South Campus, Fargo, ND. Visitation: Thursday, February 17, 2011, from 5-7 PM, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
